At the top of this email is an audio follow-up to yesterday’s Q&A with former Trump adviser and GOP consultant Sam Nunberg about last night’s primary results. What do they tell us about the Trump/De Santis battle for control of the GOP party?
According to Nunberg, there are three big takeaways:
Trump should stop placing such critical emphasis on whether or not the candidates he endorsed win, given the results in Alabama and the uncertainty in Pennsylvania. It isn’t helpful to his own prospects and may not be as indicative of as much as he says it is.
The results show Trump should stop re-litigating 2020.
De Santis needs to compare and contrast the two men’s success rates in managing Covid.
